Sometime around July of 2003, our friend and sister Mareann Renard, who created and maintained this website for Casters Alliance, passed from this earth and our presence due to an automobile wreck while enroute to visit her parents in Boston.

In real life, she was a nurse. She also did volunteer work at a nursing home.

We miss her...she was a kind, happy, cheerful, courteous, helpful, caring and wonderful person.

Concerning this website:

At first, I could not bring myself to do anything to this website. Also, I did not have the password....only Mareann did, as creator. Then I recently visited here, and left the website with a feeling that Mareann's work should not be forgotten, but should be taken up as a banner to fly eternally in her memory that lingers with her smile and kindnesses within our hearts, minds and lives. I submitted a request to 012webpages.com and I was given permission to assume the website, and was given the password. So now I will make an attempt to do honor to Mareann's work until someone else takes over as webmaster. If you have any suggestions, please do not hesitate to inform me of them while in Norrath or you can email them to me at kwanja@eqguild.net

I would also like to recommend that each member build yourself a webpage at www.eqguild.net and then I will link to it from here. It is a quite easy website to work with at EQGuild.

12/24/2004: I note on EQGuild.net that there is a place for character stats. Just in case you cannot build website.

The website is undergoing some major changes. Expect a lot of broken links for a few days. :) I'm doing my best to get it back in working order. Be sure to give me a yell as to what you think of the layout so far. I'm rather enjoying it myself.

There is a raid on Kael in the planning. Check it out on the GuildMOTD.

Another thing, minimum level of acceptance for new members has been lowered to 20. Be safe all and happy hunting!

What I'm Planning for This Site

If I can figure out how to do it, I'm going to try to make it to where interested applicants can just come to the page, fill out a form, and the form will be mailed to the officers' mailing list. Don't know how to just yet, but I'm working on it.

Also, on the roster, the only people who are going to have their names on the member roster when it gets updated are the ones that have been on since LoY came out. I'm running on the guild management list of the guild info from EQ, and am leaving out all that doesn't have a date after their name (meaning they haven't been on since LoY). The list should be accurate as of yesterday, April the 13th... but I'd be happy to add more names if people would e-mail me at mareann_renard@hotmail.com. Also, even if a person is the alt of an officer, unless it says it is an officer on the guild management list, then I'm putting them down as a regular member until asked to do otherwise by that person or Kwanja. Makes things simpler for me.

Also, a new section for Biographies will be put up. It's under the Players menu, and anyone wishing to submit a biography for their character can do so. I'm not talking about levels and stats, I'm talking about an actual story behind the character. I know a lot of people that have developed some good backgrounds for their characters, including myself, and I would like them to e-mail me a biography. Be warned, they may be edited for grammatical and spelling errors, and formatted to fit the page, but no worries there, eh?

Panluas, I'm begging you, what with as many interesting stories I've heard from you, to send me some mud on your characters :)

The message boards are no longer going to be linked to. It seemed as if no one had any interest in them, and I guess I can understand that... who would want to post on a board when there's a mailing list and plenty of time to chat in-game?

Anyway, hope you all will like the redesign. Wish me luck!
